This auction is for a vintage mortician's embalming kit....we know absolutely nothing of its history or age, although we suspect it is from the first half of the 20th century. The kit offered here contains two jars (about 10"x 6"x 6"), both Dazey Churn 40s and each with a metal screw on cap having a central hole (w/hard rubber stopper). The box is divided to hold the jars and the lid has a flap where the vacuum pump thingy with rubber hoses gets stored. Size/Condition: The box measures 14"x 7.25"x 13.75". In overall good used condition as it was a working kit and not a costume store prop. The glass is not damaged but has a faint haze on the interior base. The metal caps and vacuum pump show some light (purely cosmetic) tarnish, the rubber hoses are very flexible. The box itself is solid, but must have been exposed to moisture or dampness at some point as the black paper(ish) covering is lifting, peeling or otherwise wavy in spots and at the edges....presumably an easy fix with glue. The flap in the lid is a bit warped and there is some vintage dust. Weighs 18lbs, unpacked....Parcel Post is offered and recommended to reduce shipping costs. The perfect addition to your collection.
