This item was made by my father last winter....he is 79 years old and an accomplished craftsman. The picture consisted of multiple pattern pieces that were not interchangeable in any other area of the picture. Each piece was lettered or numbered so that when all was cut out, it could be assembled. Sometimes additional sanding was required to ensure a perfect fit. Every word, design and border had many hours of drilling, cutting and sanding before it could be assembled. This picture gives a close up of some of the prayer so that you can see how intricate the lettering is. This is a close up of the top of the picture...Again the amount of cutting and intricacy of the pattern is evident. There is the "Star of David" in one border, the arch at the top appears to have cherabims or angels worshipping. Another picture of the borders and the details One of the Angels with a trumpet- repeated 6 times on the piece. A depiction of Jesus kneeling in prayer....it even has a halo around his head.... Without the frame the picture measures 30" x 35"....It is mounted on a red velvet background. My father constructed an Oak Frame with 2 1/2" Crown Moulding and 3/8" Dental Moulding. With the Oak Frame it measures 38" Wide and 42" High and 3" deep. It weighs 15 lbs. Because of its size and weight, it will ship via UPS. There is a handling fee due to its size as it requires a larger box and extra padding. I will reimburse any shipping fees that are not used. The final figure will depend on your zip code..... The oak pieces were stained in Minwax Golden Oak and a High Gloss Minwax Polyurethane was then applied. The entire piece is stunning to look at. It is hard to get a grasp on the amount of work in this piece...my dad is very meticulous in everything he does. He has one in his own home, one in a local Church and this is the last one.
