It is titled Golden Jubilee, Fifty Golden Years, 1889-1939. This is a marvelous example of San Francisco History.  Current history of this hospital:St. Joseph's Hospital, founded by the Franciscan Sisters in 1889, fell victim to low patient loads and the lack of young ladies who felt a vocation in sisterhood and locked the doors in 1980. Children's Hospital bought title to the beds; the building is now senior housing. This book has many photos, biographies, letters from prominent city members such as Mayor Angelo J. Rossi, Police Chief Wm J. Quinn, Fire Chief Charles J. Brennan, and many others. It appears to be the history of the hospital, how it started, by whom, etc. It has a padded leather cover and although it is around 70 years old, it is in wonderful condition. It measures 9 by 12 inches and is about 1 inch thick. The back of the book has many pages of advertisements from local businesses. I apologize for the quality of my photos. My camera just started doing that, guess it's time for a new one.   If the buyer lives in the San Francisco Bay area and has access to the BART system, I can meet you at the Pittsburg Bart station for delivery. You will have to pay for the book at time of delivery. For me to drive to the Pittsburg station, it will take a bit of gas, so I request a $5 delivery fee. You may also pick up the book at a location near my home. There would obviously be no delivery fee for this option. Please send an "ask seller a question" email if interested in either of these options.  Snail mail delivery will be via U.S. Postal Service Mail. The quoted charge includes the fees for mandatory postal insurance and for mandatory signature confirmation delivery. You will have to sign for the package. The delivery charge is $15. Please see information below regarding situations where possible additional delivery charges may be required for insurance and/or proof of delivery fees. All items in my auctions come from either garage or estate sales. I do not know if they came from homes where smoking or pets were present.
