Description
Ebay, please do not pull this auction. NOT REAL- NO HUMAN PARTS. Up for bid, one sideshow gaff of a sailor’s tattooed chest, skinned and made into a cannibal chief’s gruesome trophy. For those of you unfamiliar with the term gaff; it’s carnie slang for a faked or phony exhibit. This was an actual working gaff from the Museum of Strange Wonders in Fort Myers, Florida. This amazing gaff was created by world renowned sideshow gaff artist Jim Adams. Jim is known for creating some of the most convincing gaffs ever made. While at the museum it was billed “sailor skinned alive, tattooed chest made into gruesome trophy for cannibal chief”, Jim has outdone himself this time. This has to be the wildest thing I have ever seen on Ebay! The realism of this one-of-a-kind original work of art is astounding. Jim started with some real, fresh animal skin stretched and lashed it to a bamboo frame. Next, he actually tattooed a hula girl, some swallows and the words sweet and sour over where the nipples would be. Jim added very real looking nipples and get this; he actually glued on thousands of real chest hairs, one hair at a time. What a job. Yuk! I guess Jim will do just about anything to make his pieces look real. You can see the hair best in the close up photos of the hula girl, the bird, and the sour nipple. The bamboo rack is decorated with two reproduction monkey skulls on top and two reproduction lion skulls on the bottom. Real parrot feathers, collected from pet birds and purchased here on Ebay were also added. A page reprint from an antique adventure magazine with a nice illustration and a heading that says stories of sailors and cannibals is also included. This original work of art measures approximately 25 inches square and is signed by the artist. The museum was forced to close due to high rent and a poor economy. Many of the museum’s gaffs will be auctioned off here on Ebay over the next several weeks. Add me to your favorites and check back often for a free freak show. I accept Paypal. Payment is due within seven (7) days; US bidders only. Check shipping calculator for shipping cost.
