The beads on the Rosary are actually made from Rose Petals. The making of Rose Petal Beads can be traced back to ancient Rome. When the rose became a symbol of faith in the Middle Ages people were stringing these beads together to count their prayers. The string came to be known as a Rosary. In the late 1800s early 1900s the Victorian ladies revived the art of making rose petal beads from the beautiful blooms in their gardens. This process involved days of cooking on the stove and often ended with a bead that crumbled or molded. We developed a process that does not mold or crumble but retain the wonderful rose smell.
