Muzzy Interactive is meant to expand and reinforce the regular Muzzy series.  It is not meant to stand alone.  Read more at the Muzzy website, EarlyAdvantage.com. Levels I and II each have 6 CD's, which have educational games and exercises to help reinforce and master the skills and vocabulary taught in the Muzzy series. It is a GREAT investment for two types of situations: a.  when you really want your kids to get the most from Muzzy, and are serious about language learning  (this was our situation, as I'm very serious about their learning French) b.  when you, the parent, don't have enough language experience to guide your child through the Muzzy course While kids can pick up a bit of foreign language by just sitting in front of the TV and watching, let's face it:  language skills really cannot be learned very well without some direct instruction.  Not even Muzzy can accomplish this.   The Interactive CD course helps out by reinforcing the skills and vocabulary presented in each of the the 6 chapters per level.  Your child can watch Level I - Part I, and then use the Level I - CD I to reinforce learning.  Easy as that.  The learning CD's have all the same characters and the same content they are watching on the DVD's.  It is just interactive -- hence the title. My kids love educational game CD's, so they enjoyed the Interactive French.  The discs, however, were only touched by adult hands (mine :-)  ), and most remain in almost new condition, almost no light scratches.  Viewed under a bright light, Level I, Part 1 has a couple light scratches, but most other discs look mint or pretty close to it.  I treated these sets like fine china, and it shows :-) Level I and Level II are packaged differently: Level I is in the older clamshell style, and includes a free French I workbook (which sells for $14.50 on the earlyadvantage.com website)!   Level II is in the newer slipcase style, CD's only, in individual clamshells. Each contains 6 CD's, corresponding to the Parts 1-6 of each Muzzy Level.Packaging does has some damage.  Please note: Level I clamshell package is intact, but has a little damage to the back cover.  There are a couple slits in the vinyl at the very bottom, some water got in (I'm a clean freak), and when it dried the paper got ugly underneath (see photo above). Level II slipcase is a bit wrinkled / bumped on one back corner (see photo above). Free French I workbook is unmarked, and in great shape.  The pages have been opened, but there are no tears or bends or writing. PC and Mac compatible.  Early Advantage says the discs are compatible with the new Vista operating system. You should be pleased with the quality of this set.
